ABOUT

Nyssa Corney is an electronic violinist and artist from Brisbane, Queensland. She loves music and has been playing since she was 8 years old. Heavily influenced by artists such as Lindsey Stirling, London Grammar and more, she loves creating different types of music with and without violin.

Nyssa grew up playing violin and since has been involved in many orchestras, ensembles and quartets. Including school ensembles and groups, Nyssa was part of programs such as the State Honours Ensemble Program (SHEP) and the Musically Outstanding Students (MOST) program where she got to rehearse and perform in ensembles that included students from schools all over Queensland.

Nyssa has also been involved in the Brisbane Regional Youth Orchestra (BRYO) since 2014 and has performed every year since then with them. In 2017, BRYO had an international tour where they went to the USA to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York as part of the New York Music Festival.

After High School, Nyssa went to QUT to study music and she is currently about to graduate from the Bachelor of Fine Arts (Music) degree.

While at QUT she has been involved in the QUT Music Society's String Ensemble called 'String Theory'. Throughout university they have performed in and around QUT as well as for functions and for QUT students.

From being involved in 'String Theory', Nyssa became involved in a private quartet made called the Cadenza String Quartet, and are available for hire at weddings, functions and more. (https://www.thecadenzastringquartet.com/)

Nyssa is hoping to continue her musical journey after graduating and in the future continue to write music, collaborate on projects, and release and perform her music to audiences.
